Dr Ram Puniyani is an Indian author, former professor of biomedical engineering at IIT Bombay, and public speaker and activist whose work focuses on communal harmony, secularism, democratic values and human rights.
He has written extensively on communal politics, nationalism, religious extremism and pluralism. Government of India records list him as the recipient of the National Communal Harmony Award for 2007.
